Financial Planning for Retirement

It pays to plan ahead for your retirement as you may find that the state pension provided by the government will only cover basic living costs and you may need an additional income to support you.

Retirement and Pensions Advice

We can help you to understand the different type of pensions available to you and identify the right option for you.

i. The value of pensions and investments can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you invested.
ii. Inheritance Tax Planning is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Most employees will be automatically enrolled in their workplace pension scheme as of October 2012. If you aren’t employed there are still various options such as a personal or stakeholder pensions scheme or a tailored combination of schemes that are appropriate to meet your needs.

Plan For Retirement Early

It pays to plan for your retirement early as the earlier you contribute to a pension scheme the more income will be available to you when you retire.  Often an employer and/ or the government will also contribute so it is important to calculate how much money your pension is worth and how much you will need to contribute to meet your living requirements when you retire.

With most pension schemes you won’t be able to withdraw funds until after the age of 55 unless there are exceptional circumstances such as early retirement due to ill health.   We will help you to plan for every eventuality to ensure that your pension is adequate for your needs in retirement.

We can also advise on ways to make your pension more attractive or more reliable such as entering into an income drawdown or buying an annuity.   It’s important to plan in advance in advance to maximise your pension, plus we can support you in identifying the strategy that are appropriate to meet your needs.
